Everything feels right in this snap. Taken on Main Street, USA in the Magic Kingdom, at 8:30 in the morning no less, who wouldn't want this engaging employee working in their location? He is ably demonstrating the Disney MESSAGE of making people happy.
Look at him. All smiles, wearing a talking Buzz Lightyear glove, blowing bubbles for the little girl on the right, and posing for this photo. But the thing is, he's not in a costume. He's wearing his own clothes. That suggests he's not a front line cast member at all, he's the leader. And, most importantly, he's demonstrating Disney's MESSAGE expectation for his employees through his own behavior.
If Disney's goal is to make people happy, don't its leaders need to demonstrate that behavior too? Your goal may not be happiness, but surely your organization has a goal. Do you demonstrate it for your employees? If not, why not? Maybe you can help them get, so they can give, the MESSAGE.
